If you’ve ever tried to shop for someone who loves art (or that person who seems to have everything) then you know it’s not easy. There are many art-inspired gifts that are unique, creative, and yes, even affordable. Whether you’re shopping for the holidays, or any time of year for that matter, this gift guide will help you find the perfect option for the art lovers in your life.
Art Gift Guide Ideas
Small Originals and Prints

This is the most obvious idea on the list and many assume expensive - but original artwork doesn't have to break the bank. It’s thoughtful, memorable and supports independent artists. Here are a few budget-friendly ways to give original art:
Small Originals: Think 4x4, 6x6 sized canvases that can sit on a bookshelf or desk. I personally love small pieces since they can be placed in different spots around the house depending on my mood. I personally offer a large selection of small pieces called "Little Luxuries" that are popular gifts.
Christmas Ornaments: Hand painted ornaments are one of my favorite things to receive. I started collecting them several years ago and try to add to my collection each year. Now, I have my "Artist" Christmas tree that I decorate and it feels like a mini art gallery. If you know a specific artist they love, check out their website or socials to see if they are offering them. Whether the recipient has a collection or not, they will always think of you each year they hang it on their tree.
Prints & Calendars: Although not one-of-a-kind, many artists offer prints of their work. These usually come in standard sizes that can be easily framed. Some artists may even hand-embellish their canvas prints for a more personal touch. Or, find out if their favorite artist offers a calendar that they can enjoy all year. Bonus - they can cut the pictures out at the end of the year and frame them.
Experience-Based Gifts

Some people love a fun adventure over an actual object. Experiences create connection and usually a good story to tell later on. Here are a few ideas to try:
Local art walks and festivals: Many towns, especially here in the Atlanta area, host monthly art walks and festivals. Create a "coupon" that states you'll treat them to a future lunch/apps and go out to an event afterwards. There's so much inspiration to be found when you're surrounded by original art.
Attend a paint & sip class: Many towns have paint & sip studios. And some businesses, like a restaurant or wine bar, may host a special class. These are usually geared for beginners and students are guided step-by-step to complete a painting. I've been teaching these for many years and really love watching people enjoy themselves. Even if you're scared to try it, most people walk away saying how much fun they had.
Trip to the Museum: Spend the afternoon at your local museum or check out a special exhibit. It's mesmerizing to get a close-up look at artwork you've read about your entire life.
Art-Inspired Home Decor
If you're looking for something more functional for your special person, perhaps they'd love an art-inspired piece they can use around the house or even wear. Many artists turn their art into some really cool pieces. Here are a few favorites that I've found from artists I love:
Kendal Blanchard's Silk Scarves
Kristin Cooney's Acrylic Trays
Wendy Mitchell's Tea Towels
Laura Dunn's Cocktail Napkins
Brooke Lancaster's Earrings and Necklaces
These Travel Wine Tumblers by Yours Truly
Custom Artwork

Nothing will wow a person more than a custom painting made just for them. Custom paintings are definitely priced on the high-end of the spectrum, but they are perfect for celebrating special milestones and will last a lifetime.
Vacation Portraits: - Did you take an epic trip with your loved one this year? Turn your photo of your favorite view into a painting. They can relive the memory each time they see it.
Pet Portraits: Who wouldn't love to receive custom painting of their favorite pet? Or for someone who lost a beloved pet, a portrait is a nice way to offer condolences and honor the memory.
Custom Champagne Paintings: Champagne is synonymous with celebrations. Mark a milestone birthday, anniversary or wedding with a champagne piece. Add their last name and/or date to the label or cork.
House Portrait: Do you need an epic house warming gift? A house portrait is a great way to celebrate the purchase of a new house or remember the home they've left behind.
