Tannery Row Spring Juried Exhibition

Ever since I moved to Cumming, Georgia almost four years ago, I haven't made it over to the Buford area as often as I would like...which is crazy since it's only about a 20 minute drive. So when I dropped off my paintings at Tannery Row Artist Colony for the Spring Juried Exhibition, I was amazed at all of the new shops, restaurants and construction that had recently sprung up. Tannery Row is a really cool place itself; the historic building was once a leather factory that was built soon after the Civil War. Today, it's home to a restaurant, auction house and one of the friendliest galleries I've ever been to.

Twice a year, the Artist Colony opens up its doors to local artists, giving us a chance to display our work in the gallery. And, they usually host a really fun party to kick things off. I had a great time at the opening reception, admiring all of the beautiful art and touring the studios of the resident artists. Below are a few photos that I took during opening night. The Spring Juried Exhibition runs through April 14th and the gallery is open Tues. - Sat. 12 - 5 PM. Stop by if you get the chance - you'll be glad you did! And if you're feeling a little hungry afterwards, you MUST go to Rico's World Kitchen and get the Chicken Cuban sandwich. It will change your life.
